OZAUKEE HIGH SCHOOL TEAM WINS FIRST PLACE IN THE REMOTELY-OPERATED VEHICLE (ROV) COMPETITION!!!!
The Ozaukee HIgh School ROV team (Lindsay Vogt; Patrick Leonard; Austin Cole; Nick Vogt; Dominic  Enea; Travis Sheperd; and mentors, Randy Vogt and Terry Hendrikse) was among seven teams competing in the first annual underwater robot competition on Sunday, March 7. Each ROV team had to complete a series of tasks: Picking up a hydrophone and dropping it off at a location that is rumbling (buzzing), maneuvering the ROV into a cave and picking up crustaceans from the floor or wall, measuring temperature from three different locations, picking up a spiracle, and taking a sample of bacteria. As Wisconsin champion, the OHS team now advances to compete against other ROV champions at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, June 24-26. The program was developed to raise student awareness of freshwater career opportunities; provide the means of developing technical, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills; engage public/private sector experts to mentor regional teams on the United Nations Compact issues; and to connect students and teachers with working professionals in the water sector. The entire NOSD community congratulates our team and wishes them the best of luck in Hawaii!!!

    NOSD COMMUNITY
    INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SESSIONS
The NOSD Technology Department will be offering a variety of oppor-tunities to explore the future of technology, taking a close look at the newest technologies and developing our best strategy to prepare students for the world of tomorrow. In addition, all of the sessions will include information that is intended to be very useful for you and your family today.

The sessions will be hands-on. Information and techniques will be shared, then you will have the opportunity (when appropriate) to use a computer. All community members are welcome, including parents and children. The ultimate goal of these sessions is to share important information with our friends from the NOSD learning community, all within one action-packed hour. The sessions will fill up quickly. If you reserve a spot and find later that you are unable to attend, please let us know right away. We can then fill the spot with another NOSD com-munity member from the waiting list. Your consideration will be appre-ciated.

For those who cannot attend, the sessions will be recorded and posted on our Web site (www.nosd.edu, under the Parents/Community link), so you can watch the sessions from the comfort of your own home. Complete session descriptions may be found under the Parents/Com-munity link.
