STACIE STARK, Vice President

Stacie has been a resident of the Town of Fredonia since 1997 and has served as its Board representative since April 2008. She was re-elected as Board Vice President in May 2012. Stacie feels that all of us hold a social responsibility to give back to our community in whatever way best fits our time, talents, and interests. She wants to help support and contribute to the efforts to make Northern Ozaukee School District one of the best in the state of Wisconsin by continuing to upgrade its educational quality and put the district in a strong financial status.

STEVEN BAUMEISTER, Treasurer

Elected to the Board in April 2009 representing the Village of Fredonia, Steven has been a resident of NOSD since 1999 and is employed as a mortgage loan underwriter. He was re-elected to serve as Board Treasurer in 2012. He is the father of four children, three of whom attend NOSD schools. Steven has chosen to serve on the Board to work in the best interest of the students, parents, and community members, as well as school administration and staff members.

TIMOTHY BURMESCH, Clerk

Tim was elected to the Board in April 2009, representing district residents in the Town of Belgium. Tim was re-elected as Board Clerk in May 2012. He grew up in the Town of Belgium and has lived in the district most of his life. He graduated from NOSD in 1986, after which he received a diploma from LTC in welding in 1987, later an AAS degree in Industrial Electronics Technology from MATC, and attended MATC for an AAS degree in the Tool and Die program. He is currently employed at Charter Steel as Senior Electronics Technician in the Melt Division. Tim is a member and EMT Intermediate Technician with Fredonia Fire Department/Fredonia Rescue/Northern Ozaukee Ambulance and Belgium Fire/Belgium Rescue. Tim joined the Board to be involved in his children’s education, having five currently enrolled in the district. He is an advocate for educating the young. When he’s not diluted with the previously mentioned activities, he likes to take his children to sporting-related activities, such as wrestling, gymnastics, or shooting trap. Some conjectured challenges we face in the district today include staying aligned with an ever-changing environment from an educational and financial vantage point, and to incite the intrinsic value of a smaller district and the positive influence it offers to the young. Tim vows that the Board will endeavor to excel in student learning and achievement endlessly.

Stephen was appointed to the Board in August 2009 to fill a vacancy, and was re-elected in April 2012 to represent district residents in the at-large seat.

He received a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from UW-Milwaukee and an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from MATC. Tom loves being involved in the community and is actively involved in various activities, including serving as usher at his church; 4-H for 11 years while growing up and now with his children, as parent and project leader; and coaches youth soccer and T-ball. Tom’s hobbies include athletic activities and anything involving the outdoors, primarily hunting and fishing. Tom hopes and believes strongly that, while working together, we all can have a positive effect on our community and world.

FRANCIS KLECKNER, Member

Francis has represented the Town of Belgium since 1985 and served as Board Treasurer for several years.. A self-employed farmer and businessman, Francis has farmed all of his life; he is also Chairperson of the Belgium Town Board. He sought election to the Board of Education because of his understanding of budget and finance, and because he is a concerned citizen who uses a common-sense approach to problem-solving. An excellent school staff, the central campus concept instituted nine years ago, the small size of the district, and small class sizes are reasons Francis cites the district’s proven record of student accomplishment. He feels that meeting state mandates and budgeting accordingly is the district’s biggest challenge, along with spreading the word about the good things that happen at the schools.

KENDALL THISTLE, Member

Representing the Town of Fredonia on the Board of Education since 1999, Kendall graduated from Nicolet High School and MATC. He works locally as a State-certified toolmaker. He is also a former coach for the Waubedonia Youth Soccer League and past member of its governing board. The desire to give something back to the community and to be involved in decisions that affect the community motivated Kendall to run for the Board. He cites a good school staff and close-knit community as strengths of the district. Kendall sees financing as Northern Ozaukee’s main challenge, but feels that as the district adopts a strategic performance-based budget, the budgeting issues can be controlled.
